Volunteering is a good way to get involved in an area you are interested in and gain experience and contacts. I'm not sure if you live in a reasonably sized city, but organisations are always looking for people to do things. It may not pay the bills at first, but it's working towards that.

i tried to volunteer at this vets office, but they said it was against the law or something. Im not sure if that was the truth or not, though, my appearance does not really often say " I am approachable" .  I plan on going to grad school but that may take a little time. Telemarketing isnt that bad

Telemarketing is  :viking:  !  I wouldn't even attempt it.


Did they say at the vet's office why  it would be against the law for you to volunteer there?
Would you have needed training in order to work safely with the animals?   :orly:

Where abouts do you live??

There may be professional indemnity insurance they don't have that would cover volunteers, but there are plenty of other places that have volunteers insurance.

I think it was insurance or something. I also tried the library and they said they didnt need help.

I live in a suburb of pittsburgh. a really pathetic one. I would only want to volunteer at certain places, most places say they only offer real jobs. I do work part time so I dont have time for that.

I wouldn't even want to live in the nice parts of Pittsburgh. Too much lake effect snow in the winter. :snowing:
