That would be a great idea. I just lessen any risk by doing any such burglarizing at night, say, 3-4am when nobody is about. Take a look around and then dive over/under/through any fencing, wearing camo gear and a bergen to hold any liberated goods.
Last place I did, got lead, a copper boiler, lots of pipe, and when I had the floorboards up, a huge pile of floppy disks of very old, classic DOS games, such as system shock, one of the best ever cyberpunk games, and terminator-future shock.
And as well, bagged a few antique vases, plus some other chinawear. I pretty much gutted the place. Even bricked the windows in order to drag the lead web-frame things into the house and bag 'em.
When I found a trapdoor that led to the old lead hot water tank, I got really lucky because I found a full set of cigarette cards. Those can be worth a bit now, as they are never made now. There is a single one missing, but if I bought the one card to fill the set then it wouldn't surprise me if they are worth a bit.
