Found that I really like work made by Ivan Bilibin. Was a pleasure to find that out today. Thanks to a colleague who introduced me to his work.

I still remember reading tales about Baba Yaga, with her house of bones, standing on chicken feet, and about basch tchelik (sp?), the one where a young lad is in a castle, warned never to open a certain door, he does of course (well it would be a boring story that goes 'guy does fuck all, nothing happens in response, guy buggers off and goes to sleep', would it not?) and finds what seems to be an old man, chained, who asks successively for several cups of water, drinks them, pours the final one over his head, which brings him out of his weakened state which allows him to be held captive. Then busts out in a black fury, being not an imprisoned old man at all, but a captured devil or demon. Kinda Tchorni Bog-esque bugger, and general nasty piece of work.

Russki folk tales seemed a whole lot jucier to my child self than modern and european or english, american, etc. tales for kids, they were too boring, not nearly enough grit to the heroes, or foulness on the part of the adversaries, much less blood guts gore and slaying, because oh noes! god forbid that children should be exposed to something so unsuitable!

I preferred the fiction of my early childhood to have a bit more grit, and be more meaty and substantial, not a few pages of prechewed, bland, fwuffy ikkle kitten-infested swill about princesses and princes and everybody all happy from beginning to end, poncing about like complete wankers. Thats just me, though. Maybe some kids LIKE their reading matter to already have passed through somebody's intestinal canal.

Oh, nice!

Just found the remains of a small tobacco pouch with enough left in it to make a few rollups, as well as a lighter, some papers, and best of all, 14 'zomorph'.As well as a medium-sized bottle of cold cherry coke in the fridge.

Well, there were 14 there to start with,  five fewer now, as well as a full-sized (600mg, I think, at least, give or take a couple of tens of mg perhaps, one way or the other. Close enough anyway) dose of morphine that I'd got ready earlier today, I must have forgot all about it, either that, or I fell asleep before I could come round to making use of it. Either way, it isn't going anywhere this time, other than where its meant to, when its meant to. I had been wondering why my hips were hurting quite so much. Now that explains it, if I made it up and then forgot to actually use it, while not remembering I hadn't. Oops.

...DEFINITELY going nowhere, now :P but OW, that stung like fury, that has to be the one thing, other than the things held in common by all, or most opioids, that I dislike about morphine, the strength of the histamine release it causes if you miss a tiny bit, such as whatever dribbles out of the point once one withdraws it from a vein, any accidental extravasation HURTS, admittedly not for all that long, but it would do had the cause of the histamine release not been a reliever of pain in and of itself. Damn, that was as sore as a wasp or bee sting, until I stuck a bit of steroid cream over the site, although it still left a welt about twice the diameter of a two pound coin, from the start to finish of its widest axis, and high as the distance from fingertip to the knuckle immediately closest to the fingernail end, and a load of bloody well hives down my forearm. Bastard. Bastard, bastard and OW, double sodding bastardlyness-infested bastarding fatherless bastards and their bastardly children born out of bastarding wedlock to a bastard of a partner on national fucking bastard's day :P

The mometasone gel should stop it getting any worse though, and the antihistamine (cyclizine) I just took should stop the stinging. I think in future I might just decide to take my cyclizine hydrochloride tablet script, and freebase it, take it up in some suitable solvent and reform it as a salt, but as something like the citrate, tartrate, lactic acid salt, maleate, succinate or what have ye', as the HCl salt is pretty insoluble in water. Then prepare some sterile amps, sterilize the stuff as pre-measured portions so that it can be used via IM, or added to the morphine (which apparently is a very popular, somewhat different in effect combination, certainly, I have myself had someone pleading with me to trade them some (not trade them the morphine, I mean, trade with them for some of the antihistamine, which tends to make me think that there might actually BE some difference in the combination to morphine on its own, if they were trying to get that from me, rather than requesting the actual pain meds, or else, surely, that would be the other way round, the other party wanting the painkillers not the antihistamine. Just the way round in which they wanted something being the inverse of what would intuitively be expected, when if not cyclizine itself, OTHER antihistamines are ten a penny when it comes to being over the counter, so there must be something making IV cyclizine w/ MS qualitatively different to what would result from some other sedating antihistamine, if one were to pull a box off a pharmacy shelf whilst blindfolded, trusting to chance to determine which kind.

What, on the other hand, it is, I do not know.  But I could definitely benefit from having a rapidly acting option present, for that sort of reason, to prevent swelling from progressing if theres any extravasation, and the steroid hasn't suppressed it from beginning altogether, so as not to have to sit around waiting for it, whilst feeling as if I just laid down on a wasp, because that is not my idea of an awful lot of fun.

Oops. Only just woken up*

Evidently, I hadn't or if I had, I went and nodded off on my keyboard. Or the long sleeves on my comfy indoor robe might have got in the way of the keyboard. Everything in this laptop keyboard is a pain, supersensitive input from those shitty laptop mouse touchpads, or just mechanically getting in the way of my fingers. Quite possibly a mix of two or more of the above.

Nice CBC :)

Always good to find money. Especially though, when its not yours to start with and somebody loses it in the street/outside, where no rightful owner can be seen actually losing it, I.e, any time its fair game, and not just re-finding money you had already. I've been really lucky on occasion, such as finding fivers, the odd tenner and very odd 20 note. That always brings a lovely warm glow to my insides, the warm glow of smug self satisfaction, as the next round at the pub, and who's turn it is to cover your next dealer's bill for a nice juicy 8th/quarter of skunk (or if I can get any, hash, I do like a nice slab of GOOD hash, just so long as its not soapbar crap. Regrettably the latter often puts people off buying resin, making it harder to GET resin, because  the  dealers don't sell much of what they find hard to shift to begin with too often.  But I do so like a nice strongly indica, as long as it is the proper stuff not just lower grade sputnik/solid. Although some spudders can be alright it a pinch as long as its not stepped on with garbage.

Best find of money was years ago whilst walking along the track of a disused railway (not even connected to a full line, let alone in use, its overgrown like a jungle of small trees, japanese perdition-bush...err.. knotweed, ahem :P, brambles, red ants etc. Went up there as a youngster to go somewhere suitable for setting up targets and squeezing off  some rounds from this, that and t'other, only one time, I found a handbag, with a purse in it and plenty property, obviously someone had robbed the old lady who it belonged to. I know it was one, because I tracked her down (AFTER stowing the guns of course lmao, might be autistic, but I can still tell, theory of mind ? bloody obvious, not to go call up a random wee OAP lady, carrying a rifle, flare-launcher, and DIY RPG :P

There was her purse in there, no money in it but her bank cards etc so I thought she should be given them back. Also, two bottles of temazepam 30mgs, full to the brim, of the now to the best of my knowledge, discontinued jelly egg 'mazzies. She'd got a new script in the meantime, and told me I could keep the two full bottles found with the bag, and gave me, I can't remember for sure now which, as it was quite some years ago, a reward of either £20 or £25. Plus the two bottles of tranqs. I was pretty shocked actually, as I was still only a quite young teen then, probably not yet 15. 14, maybe. But around 13 or so iirc, yet lil ol' lady was perfectly happy to just tell me 'keep them then if you want, I've got more of my own' or words to that effect. So of course I did.

For some reason temazepam actually is given somewhat of a different legal status than most benzodiazepines here, because its intensely popular amongst people who like that kind of thing for reasons other than the ones their GPs are likely ever to give them out for :P, the jelly eggs were actually discontinued and now aren't made, or at least if they are then unavailable here because people were stupidly melting and injecting the contents, causing all manner of vicious soft tissue and vascular damage, embolisms etc. Apparently popular amongst skag-rats in glasgow and the like. But I've never found it to be anything at all special, in any way whatsoever that would not also apply to the vast majority of other benzos. Its just a bog standard vanilla benzodiazepine, of moderately strong, but not at all possessed of any trait  to distinguish it from the rest of its relatives. There are exceptional, and other very good or/and qualitatively different, some specialist effect-packing ones.

But temaz is just a run of the mill, perfectly acceptable but at the same time completely USUAL one thats never going to be anything other than that. Although I did enjoy them mind you, especially having two dispensing bottles full and at that age a low body weight does make things hit harder for the same amount put into you as it will when bigger, older and more , so my mileage gotten out of them wasn't bad at all.

We have a dump near our house - more of a trading site as the trash collectors take whatever is there at the end of the week.

Yesterday I could not find this thread (I admit to not looking hard); I found a step chair. It's a version with wood instead of metal seat and ugly upholstery. I am in porcess of reupholstering it - Py wants canvas but not sure where I will find duck or if I want that on something that's going to be stepped on more than sat upon.

Also, a mouse clip in my kinder surprise.

I didn't find two of WolFish's pens that were missing, but in the process he found the inspiration to find them himself.
