I discovered this last night past about three AM when I went for my daily peruse and walk through the area in which I live. I am generally armed with just a forty five auto and a skinning knife. I am old school; not much can threaten me with my chosen weaponry. I also carry a million candle power flashlight which I usually keep at one tenth power to warn off approaching cars, but when I need to dazzle someone/blind someone I can do so at the flip of a switch.

All seemed quiet. BUT ...

I have a neighbor who is sitting in his lawn chair all night with a loaded shotgun at the ready.

He has been "on watch"  for four days, because his house was broken into and things were stolen, like microwave, stereo, TV, even fucking groceries.
I talked to him, some, but there was no bringing him down from sitting watch.

He is actually an alley neighbor, who lives on a busy street. One block over is a nightmare of a ratrun around town. I am concerned, not so much about him sitting watch with a loaded shotgun at all hours of the night (actually I applaud him and his efforts), but the reality of having "big city" shit come onto our small town is very disturbing.

ALREADY!!!  REALLY!!!

The end result of life's daily pain and suffering, trials and failures, tears and laughter, readings and listenings is an accumulation of wisdom in its purest form.

Metal detecting at the beach...

5 bottle caps
2 tent stakes
1 sparkler wire
2 pop tabs

...and a quarter in the hotel parking lot when I was walking up to the room to get the detector.  :headbang2:

1 Artificial tree
Body by Jake Ab scissor machine, with instructions and assembly wrenches boxed up nicely on top.
Weider ab shaper
Brass lamp
A big box labeled "Kirby" containing a Kirby rug renovator system....still no Kirby.

They are teasing me. :bigcry:

Oh well, hopefully my son and I will have nice abs by next spring. :eyebrows:

Could have had my own home gym with all the exercise equipment I passed up.

My kid fell in love with a strange print of some old painting at the church sale...labeled as an Art gallery rental, Hubbard 1969 on back, dreary looking thing that I am clueless about. Will take a picture of it hopefully tomorrow.
