Just picked up a refill, just this minute got home and took some of my meds (oxycontin, an antihistamine and chlormethiazole), about to take some tizanidine (muscle relaxant/adrenergic blocking agent) to ease the cramp in my leg.
Much better. Christ...last night was awful. Felt like my leg was going to tear itself in half the cramp got that bad. Its been there for many months, constantly, and the only break I get is when I take my muscle relaxers. The tizanidine works bloody great, but I only have 2x2mg pills per day on my rx, although I'm trying to persuade my doc to give me a bit more. The problem is, its short acting. Kills a few birds with one stone, so to speak, as aside from being a muscle relaxant, its also an alpha2 adrenoreceptor agonist, which helps stop the adrenal storms I've had problems with (although thankfully not had one lately), and also stops me overloading, kills overloads before they ever even get a chance to get past the stage of mild sensory irritation.
Only lasts a few hours though, so I don't take it during the day, unless I'm starting for some reason, to get overloaded, usually I go without during the day, so I can take both at night, and prevent the cramping from stopping me getting any sleep.
