Friendships

[size=10pt]I was checking out another aspie board (commonly referred to as 3 letters in the first 6 letters of the alphabet, because I'm not sure I can refer to Aspies for Freedom openly).  Anyways, someone had a rant against talented people. Somewhere in her posts she said something along the lines that she only had friends who were like her.  (Based on her posts I wouldn't want myself counted in the same census as her, much less as a friend.)   That got me thinking (always dangerous):

a) how do you define friendship,
b) do you have physical, real, able to be touched friends,
c) are you satisfied with the number of friends you have? [/size]

A: Friendship is someone who will help you clean up after you puke.
B: Yes.
C: Yes.

B: Did, don't, people change, or sometimes life changes you.

I have people I classify as "friends", but none I'd tell any secrets to or anything really personal...if that makes any sense.

a) A social relationship that's characterised by voluntary interaction, mutual respect and a willingness to provide assistance to each other.  I can't be bothered providing a more rigorous definition than that.
b) Only if I count my Mum and dog.
c) Yes.  If I include my Mum and dog, I have two of them, which is quite enough.  I used to have some internet friends that I talked to on a daily basis, but I lost interest in that kind of interaction about a year ago, and I haven't kept in touch with them.
