richard ramirez (the night stalker)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Ramirez

i used to sleep with a bat next to my bed.  it was the middle of a summer heatwave and we slept with the doors and windows closed

He was an evil man.

I lived in San Jose then and it made me nervous to leave the patio door open at night even if I was awake.

He didn't look bad either. Psycho but not really ugly.

there seemed to be a bunch of serial killers in the 70's and 80's.
locally we had; the hillside strangler, the freeway killers and the night stalker, to name a few.

but it seems that serial killing has gone out of fashion.  the sheer number of serial killers has declined over the last two decades.

what happened to serial killers?

They are quietly killing now, but will be caught in the next 10 years. This is the downtime when they lurk.

My ex husband was related to the Yorkshire Ripper - the Yorkshire Ripper was his Mum's cousin. Pity no one told me when we met!

Why?

Would you have judged him if you knew? Did you judge him after you found out?

I think that be the reason why he didn't tell you was because he felt ashamed and thought people would judge him for it, even you.

He was a serial killer from where my mom grew up and my grandparents still live there.

Ted Bundy:

Gay child killer pedophile from my area:

What's even scary is he took a four year old boy from an elementary school here and it was the school that I lived right next too when I was a baby. My parents took me there a lot to play on the slide.

Aileen Wuornos:

Rare female serial killer

Robert Lee Yates:

Spokane had a serial killer in the 90's.

No, it was just a joke Kit. I don't think he even knew when we met as we were quite young and friends first. I really only found out much later on.

Not sure if it was a family secret, I think his Mum thought it was kind of funny from memory. She came to Australia when she was around 13. I think she only spent time with Peter Sutcliffe when she was at her Grandparents house.
