was serial killing a fad?
« on: February 27, 2010, 04:16:44 AM »
there seemed to be a bunch of serial killers in the 70's and 80's.
locally we had; the hillside strangler, the freeway killers and the night stalker, to name a few.

but it seems that serial killing has gone out of fashion.  the sheer number of serial killers has declined over the last two decades.

what happened to serial killers?
Misunderstood.

People have become over-socialized, even criminals.

The few serial killers we had in Sweden were also in the 70s, 80s and early 90s.

They are quietly killing now, but will be caught in the next 10 years. This is the downtime when they lurk.

My ex husband was related to the Yorkshire Ripper - the Yorkshire Ripper was his Mum's cousin. Pity no one told me when we met!

Except for the gun laws I don't think America is very superior to Sweden nowadays. And in principle only Vermont and Alaska are really following the 2nd Amendment, and only concerning semi-automatic guns.

But anyway: Swedish murderers

Depends on how you count. There were also 5 "mass murderers".

Quick is probably innocent, by the way, at least to the most murders he is convicted for. He will get a new trial in the Supreme Court.

Kind of. Ironically he's not a "real" Swede himself but half Austrian.  :green:
