What is it like to live in a place so tropical that you have to get on a plane to see real winter? Here in the South its the same somewhat but they can just drive to get it. Do you fell you are missing anything?
It does snow in parts of Australia, and not all of it is tropical. Queensland, and particularly north Queensland is though. I flew into Cairns a couple of weeks ago and flying over the palm trees was quite beautiful.

Although I fantasise about snow filled winters, I don't think I could live with them.
I grew up around the beach, and I just cannot imagine being kept inside all the time and freezing my tits off anytime I wanted to go somewhere.
