You can't really say that, when you know nothing about golf.  He's a phenom, on the course anyway, he's entertained people, he's box office.  So people want to watch him, whatever he's doing.

Having a skill in one area, doesn't make you a God and all knowing over everything.

On the flipside, when people idolise others, they focus in on a narrow thing. Ultimately, we are all humans, and we should always fail at something in order to learn humility and how to rise above things. It's a lesson we all should learn, regardless of stature.

It would make more common sense with idolizing a very skilled surgeon, for instance, though the masses can't indentify themselves with such a man as easy as with some sports nerd.

And thats bollocks, cause golf is actually a sport where the normal person can identify.  Cause amatuers can hit a lot of the shots pro's can, most days.  Just nowhere near as consistently.

To me, golf is probably the most boring sport on television.   I get more excitement from watching Olympic curling.   

Tiger Woods did that press conference here, by the way.   The TPC Sawgrass and the World Golf Hall of Fame are both close to where I live.   Golf is huge here, and there are many golf courses in the Jacksonville area.   It is a worthless game to me.   Huge waste of money.   My father has 3 sets of golf clubs, and he still sucks at golf.    He should quit golf and sell his clubs.
