hooray for the taxman

holy shit.
i thought we were going to owe $7000 in taxes.  so i have been working every night for the past two weeks . but we took our taxes to a CPA.  we are going to get $3000 back.

that is a 10 grand swing.

in june we are taking oulast few years of taxes to him.  i bet we get between 20 and 30 thousand back.  since each year i have been writing the gov't a check for 8 to 10 thousand dollars..   :tongue:

save it.  in june when we bring our past years to him if we get more money back then we are going to buy a minivan for the family and maybe take a family vacation.

Your CPA will probably say, "Aw shucks, weren't nothin, just doin ma job," but I'd be handing him a nice bottle of Moët, just the same.  :thumbup:

the CPA was a samoan.  he was really happy to hear that we donated 10 bags of clothes to a samoan church after the tsunami hit samoa.

Those Samoans have really been in the wars, first with the cyclones and then the tsunami. After the 1993 cyclone, it took ages for the birds and flying foxes to repopulate the islands, and people commented on how spookily quiet it was with no parrots etc. screeching in the treetops. It doesn't take much time for the plant life to recover; you stick a fencepost in the ground, and next year it's a half-grown tree!
