No idea why. Although I used to call you Hale Bopp because of your WP username.
Existence actually has two broad meanings despite its apparent meaningless. The constant reconciliation of all its parts, and the conservation of any closed system as a whole.

Morality can be extrapolated from these meanings to make these two commandments of godless morality: 1). Be in harmony with one another and 2). Care for the environment.

Because we know your real name?

When you post your name online, people could call you by it. I don't know why I get called Beth and by my username by the same person.

I think I've called you hale bopp at first because I recognised you from wp so thought of you as that. But then everyone seemed to call you fiona so I knew you as that then and have probably called you that on here.

I dunno how people's names get used. People almost all call me Soph even though I rarely have that as my username. Maybe it's with people who have changed their username a lot, although I don't think you have?

Why does everyone here call me "Fiona" or refer to me as "fiona" when my user name is fatty Mcblob/splat face? I don't see people doing it with other members.

I think that's reserved for users who keep changing their name often.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I call you "Fiona" because both Fatty McBlob and Splat Face seem awfully derogatory, no matter that you've chosen those names yourself. I've had similar problems with other people's online usernames: Commencing a private message with "Hello nutbag, how's it going?" feels... not right somehow. The difference is that I know your actual name, whereas I've no idea of nutbag's real name.

I would probably think of you as Hale Bopp if I'd had more to do with you on WP, but I haven't, so I don't.

That's my reason, too.  I used to always call you Hale Bopp because I had a hard time with calling you Fatty McBlob, but more recently since more people call you Fiona, that name stuck more in my mind.

My reason is a mixture of Phlexor's and SD's.
When people change their avatar and username, I try to find out who they are, and will think of them in their old name. Sometimes people are called by a name I've never seen as their username, and I start using it too, like Hadron, much shorter than Christopher McCandles.

And like SD, calling someone Fatty McBlob, Splatface, Blarch etc, just is not nice to use. And hard to remember too. When I see a pic of you, I don't think of those usernames. Maybe if you had a face that had met a sledgehammer, it could be done, but you don't have a face like that. Fiona seems the most neutral to use for me.

And people here call Richard "Richard" even though he has gone by other names. People call me SG or Spokane even though I have done other names and now I'm Kit.

Yes I remember that and that is when I stopped using Hale Bopp. Fiona is nicer imo and easier to type. Plus I saw your real name on your site.

Hadron is easier to type and I like it better. I hope that Hadron will change it back to that eventually.

I like Soph better as well.

I think lot of people do call her Soph. I call it lazy typing because we all find a name to call someone by and not be arsed to type the whole thing. People can start calling me Kit and stick with it because it's three letters than four or seven. But people call me SG which is short for Spokane Girl  ;D
