my wit is a well manicured defensive mechanism.
i learned quickly in life that socially i am not like other people.  basic conversations pain me to no end.  and i am horrible at them.  however, once i discovered the joys of vagina i also learned that i need to have these basic conversations.  i worked hard to learn my craft.
