I agree. The whole concept of a Constitutional Monarchy with a government endorsed official religion is the very definition of suck.
It's not really a monarchy if it changes every 4-8 years, and there's no government endorsed religion, it even says so in the constitution. Oddly enough, the whole reason the pilgrims first shipped over here from England was to get away from the government endorsed religion (the Catholic church) that more or less ruled England at the time.
That being said, you're not too far off, except that it's not religion that runs the government, it's free-market corporations that funnel money into the pockets of whichever senator or congressman they think can get them the best results.
It's very simple, do you already have billions of dollars in the bank? if so, what's that annoying law that's keeping you from profiting with an unfair advantage, and who do you have to pay off to get that law changed? That's how the US works, it's not religion or a monarchy, it's a bunch of rich guys trying to become richer and a government of political hookers who will do anything for a buck.
The "monarchy" makes no difference anyway, blame Bush or Obama for whatever you want, the president is nothing more than a PR spokesman for the Congress, he'll claim that he's going to give everyone a free blow job to get the votes, but once a president is in office, he doesn't do jack shit for 8 years except for read pre-written speeches and show up at preschools to read nursery rhymes live on CSPAN.
