I found out AFF is not a support board. If they said it was, it turn into whine planet. But it is not anywhere like here.

During the clash/crash of summer 2008 Amy pointed out very clearly that it was not meant as a support board at all. I think she did not see that you cannot have activism without mutually supporting each other. I don't know how it is now. I did leave summer 2008. Loved it there in 2007.

I remember the drama there. I mostly lurked then, rarely posting, and I must have missed that. Plenty of people got banned.

Aye, there was a maximum posts/day - it's gone now, effectively (it's now at 250, which is more than anyone should need), but it was 20, then 30 a day. it was horrible.

What was the rationale for that rule, if you know?

I have had to delete pages and pages of his spam as well as other people's spam, but it seems counterproductive to penalize everyone for something only a few people do.

The Moderators and Admins of the time turned a blind eye to blatant sockpuppetting to get around it - at the time, there were no mods or admins in certain timezones (one Aus, one US (but not that active), one DE (but only for the DE section of the board) and two UK (but they were rarely around) - it's been raised to a very high level now though, which happened shortly after I was made a mod (though I had little to do with it)

Then a delete button was added for everyone so we had the ability to delete any post for if we see his spam. But I mis used it so I got that button taken away. I was only deleting diaper posts. If it weren't for my honesty, it might not have been caught. It would have taken longer.
