Our local supermarket every once in a while plays "dumb" and has close out sales of the last bottles of wines and liquor.  I bought somebody's scotch (which neither PA or I drink) because it was marked down to $3.75.  Turns out not to be too bad, only 80 proof and therefore doesn't set our insides on fire.  Only  had a sip, so the bottle might last until we die, although it might be good in hot tea.  And yes it's blended, not the best scotch by a long shot.

80 proof is pretty standard for scotch, don't think I have ever seen one higher or lower.  What brand did you get? I like some blended scotches more than some single malts.

Perhaps in a few years I'll agree with you.  But I don't care for Scotch and am drinking this about 1/4 thimblefull at a time since I don't like the burn of whiskey.  Anyway, it's just something to practice on.
