It's one of the few Czech beers we can get here in the US. It was on sale at the grocery store so I could'nt pass it up.

I guess I would if I had ever tasted it, but I don't think beer from that brewery is sold in Sweden. I have a list of all beers that are sold here and it's not on it. But I like Erdinger Weissbier.

Another good Czech beer is Staropramen Granat. Tastes like Pilsner Urquell but with more "flavour" in it.

I've been looking for Staropramen but I have'nt come across it yet. 

I like some of Erdingers beers but noone makes a Hefeweizen as good as Schwelmer.

I have a catalogue over all beers, wines and strong liquors sold in Sweden. We have three types of Erdinger, Fransiskaner Hefe-Weissbier, Paulaner and Weihenstephaner from Germany and Hoegaarden from Belgium. They are available in the liquor stores, that, by the way, is a state monopoly here. There are additional beers from the same companies that can be ordered without any extra costs. But no Schwelmer.

Staropramen is available as "ordinary" Staropramen and Staropramen Granat. I consider the Granat the most superior. One bottle of beer in Sweden costs about US$2, by the way. How much does it cost by you?

It depeds the size you're talking about. That 6-pack of Pilsner Urquel cost $6.99 plus tax. With tax that comes out to about $1.25 each.

Hoegaarden costs about the same.

Most beer bottles here, including Pilsner Urquell, have the size of 33 cl. That's about 1/3 of a quart. In that case it's definetely cheaper by you, at least if the percentage of alcohol is 4.4% as it is here and not 3.6% or something. And Sweden is pretty much closer to the Czech Republic than California is. But I'm not surprised. A bottle of Absolut costs more here than in the US and is only 40%, while it's often 50% when sold abroad
