I forgot you're Australian. That, by definition, automatically means you know everything there is to know about beer! Right?! :)

Speaking of which, what the hell does "Tassie got the chop" mean? Don't tell me it's an ancient Aboriginese term for female circumsition? The pain of which can only be numbed via huge cans of lager? Bruce? Questionmark?

No, I don't know anything much about beer.  Tassie got the chop, dunno, probably because it's an island that people forgot to draw on maps of Australia for many years.  But we have a joke that Tasmanians are all inbreds with two heads.  It's an okker thing, a bit outdated.  I don't go much for that sort of shit.
