What's the point with Coke without caffeine and sugar? Coke is mainly caffeine and sugar, except for the water, of course.
I think that you have already asked me this before. I guess it's an acquired taste.
I started drinking Caffeine Free Diet Coke when I was pregnant, because I didn't think the caffeine and sugar would be good for the baby.
Nutrasweet is not good for anyone
I know that NutraSweet is not good for you specifically, PARTS, but you have a sensitivity to it. I think it can be a good alternative for other diabetics.
I didn't drink that many when I was pregnant, and according to my OB-GYN, Aspartame, the artificial sweetener found in NutraSweet, and Caffeine Free Diet Cokes, is considered safe for pregnant women and their babies when consumed in moderate amounts, assuming that the pregnant woman does not have PKU.
I guess it would also be a bad idea to consume Aspartame if someone had some sort of allergy or sensitivity to phenylalanine or aspartic acid, the two amino acids that Aspartame is made of. Amino acids are the building blocks of proteins, so there are plenty of other dietary sources of both of them, besides NutraSweet. For example, a glass of skim milk has about 6 times more phenylalanine and 13 times more aspartic acid than the same amount of Caffeine Free Diet Coke. While it is true that NutraSweet releases methanol when it is metabolized, a glass of tomato juice has 6 times the methanol that the same amount of Caffeine Free Diet Coke has.
