Thanks. I should. I've had worse than a hole in my neck so it won't even bring me off my feet.  ;)

You're right about this being something you undertake only because you HAVE to, not for the fun of it. Hope everything goes to plan; that the bone graft heals up well, and most importantly that it corrects the problems you were having before.

(Keeping the part that was changed out as a souvenir? That made me smile.)

I did that with my wisdom teeth, but I don't think I would keep a disc.

Besides, the doctor may need to send it to a pathologist to make sure nothing's wrong.

Will you have to stay in the hospital overnight after you have this done?

This kind of surgery would need more than one night in the hospital I think, given the area that will be operated on.

I would have thought so as well, but they are doing more and more operations as day surgeries, so I wondered.

I thought that yours would be an overnight stay for your ankle surgery, Callaway. I had jaw surgery and was in hospital for three nights. To have my appendix out, that was an overnight stay as well.

TMI? Ah well.

I arrived at the surgery center about an hour and a half before the operation, which took about two hours, then I was in the recovery room for about an hour and a half, then they were ready for my husband to take me home.

That is a very short time. If you had general anaesthetic, I wonder if you felt groggy for the rest of the day.

A little tired, but I had the Michael Jackson drug, Propofol along with Fentanyl and Versed, so the effects wore off pretty quickly.
