First of all, I have about a dozen or so first, second, and third pages of various stories I'd need to finish or edit, or both. Then, there's the AS thingy I'm writing but can't seem to finish either, and there's a chapter or two on a film festival I thought I'd expose while I still remember any of it. And a few other subjects I've tried on occasion.

And there's this book somebody sent to me, via email, no less, and there's Jonathan Safran Foer (but I sort of don't want to read it because I only have a translated version), and there's a large number of other books I know that I should read but I can't be arsed, and, of course, a significant number of books that I've wanted to read again.

And, of course, a couple of library books I just couldn't resist.

They all cause anxiety in one way or the other. And I can spend hours choosing a book I'd like to read before trying to sleep, and still end up sticking around here...

ecstatic.  mainly cos it's nice to know someone else does the same, lol.

however, i have a Cunning Plan, when my brain threatens to explode itself like that - i pull out a brain candy book, and lose myself in it, instantly.  marvellous, like comfort biscuitcakechocolatecrisps (but far less fattening, obviously).

terry pratchett, ian rankin, marian keyes (cos the female hero ALWAYS gets the gorgeous bloke, AND shags him senseless, AND gets to wear really cool shoes), various thrillers/crime/easy reads (my definition).  open up, plug in, turn off, ignore world.

and calorie free, too...
