Karma (which is Sanskrit for "action") is a shorthand way of saying "What goes around comes around," or if you prefer, "As ye sow, so shall ye reap," or maybe "Newton's Third Law of Motion works in mysterious ways." To see karma only as events which to happen to a single individual during his or her lifetime is to see just a tiny part of a much bigger picture.

this is so typical of all religious concepts, and it pisses me off to no end: everything happens after you die, either right after you die, or aeons after you die.
why cant religion show itself to people WHILE they live? :(

buddhism for example, is entirely revolved around not living, until you die.

In all kinds of religion, you see the postponing of life as a tendency, but also the focussing on life right here and now. Religions are not that simple. If they were, they would not be all over the world. And for such a long time too.

the most important things, such as _ultimate proof_ is always postponed. cus we have never ever seen any. jesus is gonna show himself in a thousand years from any point in time. a thousand years from now, and if we wait a hundred thousand years, a thousand years from then on.
its religions free-card: it can claim anything, and that proof lies in the afterlife
Some religious people just accept that their religion is a construction, that grew over time, yet still find strength, comfort and inspiration in it. Not all religion is fundamentalism. Lot of religious people do not care about the afterlife, do not care about the proof. It helps them live now.

i get what your saying, and being a norwegian, there exists virtually no fundamentalism here, yet a lot of people are christian. but even they imagine their lost ones in heaven, and even they imagine meeting them again etc.

i just cannot aggree with it, its like seeing a wall, and insisting that its an opened door, and trying to walk through it. its just un-do-able

and my point remains the same, if ANYONE, from moderate to priest, EVER wanted proofs for what they live for, they would be forever denied such.

If it wasn't so expensive that seems a nice place to live

Oh, funny 'Karma' thing.

Ages ago, the puritans left my country and other European countries to go off to the USA. Now we are getting evangelical movements back from the USA. (Evangelical, not meaning Lutheran, but Pentecostal, and zealous)

What goes around comes around indeed.  :P

You get an awful lot of child support from the state in Norway. Could work out for you. And they love immigrants with kids in the remoter areas.

There was a joke here, that if your were out of cash, but with kids, going to Norway was the best option. A joke with some truth in it.

theres a phenomenon here, rare but it exists, in fact a friend of mine was "struck" by it, and still is: kid-hunters, chicks who indeed TRY to become pregnant through one-night stands.
they get loads of money. they "collect" kids. arent they gonna be well functional kids, they werent even wanted, they were a tool to get money :D
