I haven't been to the beach since I was 11, and I may never go again. The ocean is beautiful, but I'm too afraid of  !

Do you know how much more likely it is for you to die while riding your bicycle than by a shark attack if you go to a beach?

In the US, in 2008, 716 people died in bicycle related accidents while 1 died in a shark attack.

Heh, I don't ride a bike either...

If I truly missed the beach, it might be worth it to risk going in the water, but the water is not my natural element anyway; dry land is. (I've never flown either. I like being on the ground.  )

You have not offended me at all.    Look at the grammar in your original post and how you used "me" instead of "my" for example.  Who has the fried brain?

I live in Florida, which is close enough to the equator.
