Good news!!
« on: October 28, 2009, 05:54:15 PM »
My Dad called a little bit ago with a good update on my Mum. Her recent blood panel showed that her kidneys went from a functioning level of 16% to 25% and they've been able to take her off 5 of the meds they had her on! She's not even showing any side effects from the withdrawal either. So the doctor said that if things continue on like this, they may not have start dialysis for a few more weeks and that puts off the transplant for maybe as much as a year. Eek. I'm so happy I could explode.

And I just finished giving Harley another round of IV's and he was such a trooper. Sat there all quiet and patient and loved on me while I held the needle in place. It takes about 25 mins for me to get the proper amount in him.

I feel like I can breathe a bit easier now. It was getting kind of stressful having so much on my shoulders. The house, the kids, the cat, my Mum, teaching etc. I had made a promise to myself that next year I'm going to be putting more of my own needs first and really going after things I want in my life without holding back and I fully intend to stick to that.

That must be a relief time to celebrate

Eek. Manchester museum tours. That would be fun. 8)

Thanks parts. I am hugely relieved. I felt like I had to keep putting things on hold because I didn't know if I woud have to drop everything and fly to GA. I had things I was planning and was looking forward to and it's nice to know I don't have to hold back anymore. *does the happy dance*

Really, really, really good news.
I2 today is not i2 of yesteryear. It is a knitting circle. Those that participate be they nice or asshats know their place and the price to be there. Odeon is the overlord

.Benevolent if you toe the line.

Think it is I2 of old? Even Odeon is not so delusional as to think otherwise. He may on occasionally pretend otherwise but his base is that knitting circle.

Censoring/banning/restricting/moderating myself, Calanadale & Scrapheap were all not his finest moments.

That's really good news, CG.  How much would her kidneys need to improve not to need dialysis or a transplant at all?

I'm not sure. She has an appt next week to get her vein mapping done and then she has to go back to the Nephralogist to go over the results from her recent blood panel and the vein mapping and then he tells her what it all means. So we should have more information at the next appt.

Thanks for the support. You guys rock.  :-*
