Trying to convince a giddy three year old to sit down and eat the rest of his tea. Not having a lot of success.

Trying to keep my workaholic, 69 year old, visiting, cute as a button mother from doing the dishes. She needs to sit  and entertain her grandkids, for god's sake, and mine. If she won't, I may have to resort to anime and the kids will be in "el Gonno Zone" for hours.

Let her do it, but help her with the dishes.  She only wants to feel useful.  Then she can play with the kids.

That's what I did, but it took four times as long as normal, to finish the dishes. Sometimes she needs a "Nap" button.

One time, when my dad visited me, he took it upon himself to reorganize my utility/laundry room.  He hung my tools from a pegboard and drew little lines around the tools with a pencil so I would see where he wanted me to put them.  Then he sharpened all my knives, got my lawn mower started and mowed my lawn.  When he visited my brother, he kept their Franklin stove well-supplied with wood.  I think it must have been 80 degrees in their house.  Then he decided to sharpen all their knives.  He even sharpened my brother's serrated steak knives, which are not supposed to be sharpened.  It took him a long time to grind down all those teeth.
