About to show another Ingmar Bergman film.

Is that all they show? Just because he's from Sweden? do they really get that many people in to see those movies?

Before the actual festival (see www.filmfestival.org) I'm stuck with Mr Bergman. Someone thought it was a good idea to show close to 50 of his films. It wasn't a good idea. I had a grand total of 30 or so people attending three shows yesterday, and there are 10 in the auditorium now (we have room for another 703 people).

No fun. I'd rather screen a mindless Hollywood epic instead.

Do they have to make money or is this some publicly funded type venture? Seems somewhat wasteful

The festival is privately funded, for the most part, but somehow they always manage. Short answer: they need the money but they don't seem to care.

... or even Ultraviolet,  maybe.

A friend from work loaned me this, because I was trying to scam an expired poster of Mila Jovovich. She said that her husband makes her sit through this movie every time she plays a chick flick.

Any amount of Mila dancing around with blades and guns, shooting and slicing everyone to bits, in shiny latex or leather, sporting perfect purple hair, healthy fangs, extreme boots and shades that never get out of place can have a couple hours of my attention, but it really is a lame movie.

:D

My sympathies on the Bergman extravaganza.

Attempting not to harm anything and looking for a place to explode over the fact that I just froze up and blanked on an important phone interview. This is the second one since I left my last job, it's for a real, full-time, six month project, and I may have fucked it up by acting like a neurotic spaz.

And people wonder why I'm a fucking control freak. Because when I slip, shit like this drags me down from jobs I know I'd be damn good at, if I could only get past the talking and get a chance. I am not the terrified child such situations tend to drag out of some godforsaken corner of my psyche.

That sucks, Pyraxis.  My mind has always blanked at interviews and I look like an idiot even though I'm not.  I don't know how to fix this.

Take it hard and deep then.

There will be other opportunities, probably even better ones.   Sometimes I say the wrong thing during interviews as well, or forget to say something I wanted to say.   There is no way I can tell you to magically not be nervous and forget things at the worst possible time.   It happens to all of us.
:P   Internets are super serious.

I know. I would have done better if I hadn't been focusing on acting enthusiastic and not telling them that I think their inane project will probably come out blowing goat nuts. But I gotta rant. And I gotta take the damn interview, because at the current rate of return I can't get away with being picky.

I won't tell you that, but, you have my good thoughts aimed in your direction.  And FWIW, I have done the same thing MANY times, your not alone.  Hang in there!  And thats not saying "take it easy",  just get a drink, scream your lungs out, or whatever it takes to vent the frustration out of your system.  Feel free to vent here, or on Fractalus or the Neurolands!!

Drinking Anchor Steam and trying very hard not to think about job interviews.
