I said a "bit of belly jiggle".  Trust me when you see a frenchman laugh like you two are implying, They ALWAYS grasp their bellies when they laugh...I don't know why, but, they DO.

Possibly, it maybe some Celtic trait.  Since the Irish and French have more of a celtic linkage than the Irish and Anglosaxons do.

reread my post, dearheart, the french have a strong celtic heritage in certain provinces.  Unlike most areas of the UK where the saxons pushed them out long ago.
