Still fighting the drywall patch. I can't seem to get the hang of this "coldwall" patching. I bought expensive high-tech stuff with acrylics mixed in and it still shrinks like a pickled dick in the pool.
Moderately frustrated.
All of the prep is done in the kid's bath, except for this fucking hole in the wall I had to put there to get to the plumbing.
I wanted to get a base coat of paint down last night, but still hovering over the hole.
Getting closer, though!
I hate patching the best luck I have had is with the stuff you mix yourself and fiberglass mesh tape
I'm getting there. It takes forever to dry, too, with the weather being so cold.
It's going to be well primed by the end of the evening. I have everything taped off and plastic taped to the floor. The toilet set and functional. I'm almost done with MY part.
I'm putting down a couple of coats of eggshell colored primer, then my wife, who is the artiste in the family is going to faux paint the walls and ceiling into a garden scene. She did this to my son's room when he was a little guy in a "Hundred Acre Woods" theme, including all the characters and with various impressionistic things to identify in the clouds above.
It was really cool. Can't wait to see how this bathroom turns out!
