I had a connecting flight in San Francisco (AND Chicago) when I was coming back from Australia. My connecting flight was in LA on the way to Australia. I hear San Francisco is expensive...I wouldn't mind living there myself if I had the money. A teacher's salary won't be enough.

They have to commute, sometimes more than an hour.

When I lived on Orange County, I was lucky in that there was an affordable, blue collar neighborhood not too far from work. The rest of the area was upper middle-class and up.
