When a six-foot man strode into a Long Island bank yesterday dressed as sci-fi super villain Darth Vader, customers and staff thought it was a joke.

But they soon realised how serious the man was when he produced a handgun and demanded cash.

Police in New York are now trying to trace the phantom menace, who stuffed cash into a bag and disappeared.

I heard this on the radio yesterday thought some might find it funny.  Didn't know the story went world wide till I saw this article.

I was wondering if they had to clean up the cashier's station?  I know they would if he'd shown up at mine.

Now, my sister is either  or dumb.  She wrestled a man with a gun who was trying to rob her.  Fortunately he didn't shoot her, but he did get her money.

Going to be hard to id this one, wonder if they'll hit somewhere else maybe with a different costume? Vader's probably going to be a dead give-away now.

I've always thought Darth Vader was sexy...I'm thinking that costume might come in handy not just for fancy dress parties 

(Mind you, a poor Darth Vader who has to rob a bank for money is dead unsexy!)

My husband thinks Princess Leia is sexy, too, but he prefers the metal bikini Leia to the long white dress and cinnamon buns hairdo Leia, which is my costume.  Halloweens here are too cold for metal bikinis.

Given the actual relationship between Darth Vader and Princess Leia, I think it would be weird to wear them for home theatrical productions, anyway.

for several reasons:

1. prove beyond doubt that the gun is loaded

2. theyre allready breaking the law bigtime, whats a little more gonna do

3. it would make for so much better cam footage for later

2. theyre allready breaking the law bigtime, whats a little more gonna do

3. it would make for so much better cam footage for later

It also provides for additional aggravating circumstances during the sentencing phase and gives the FBI and State/Local Police reason to put a particular case at the highest priority.
