i only wear tshirts when I'm at home. I wear shirts when I go out. I don't wear tennis shoes. Pants I usually just wear black ones. it's difficult to find ones that fit, pants are the hardest.

Don't ditch the hats, soph. It's a part of who you are and if you go changing too much, you're going to start feeling more uncomfortable than you already do.

yeah i think you're right - when i was in college i was famous for my hats (well, kind of    )

i feel more confident when i have hats on as well, because i hate my hair

i dunno whether i'd look older or not without the hats, probably, but i think i'd look worse. and i'd rather look young still i think

I think without the hats you would look less self assured and that won't work in your favour. Keep the hats.

Might be worth it to know which hats have a tendency to make you look older v. younger though, in case there's a particular occasion you'd prefer to look older. Then you can choose your hat accordingly.

Those flat caps I mentioned can make you look older. They are a sort of woolen thing with a very small peak (or bill) and they look like this:



You can get 'em in any colour.

I think it is my face that's the problem (isn't it always?  )
I have very young looking face, and obviously very feminine features. I think most transguys look like teenagers when they're in their 20s and 30s because of that, so maybe it's something I will just have to put up with. I wouldn't mind if it weren't for the whole girlfriend thing. I will be single forever if everyone thinks I'm 13

The drinking age here is 19 and I got carded until  I was 29. When I used to go to the casino with my ex, they'd let him in and I'd get checked for ID there too. Now I WANT them to ID me but they never do.

But who am I to have an idea about age. When I was 23 the hairdresser wanted to know my age, I not-thinking said I was 23. Should have asked why she wanted to know. Then I would have said I was 12, so that I only would have had to pay half the price.

But even if you look old enough,

You are too young for me, and I am too overweight for you.

So sad, you should have met me 22 years ago.
