Does anyone here have an edison nickel-iron battery?
Can't you guys even just imagine it?

No but they do look interesting.  They look much better than lead acid ones for long term back up,  I have had a couple of those go bad over time.  They do seem a bit pricey though http://www.zappworks.com/battery_prices.htm

Interesting. They do look like an alternative for backups. Don't know where to get one here, though.

Apparently there are some from the 1930s which are still functional -with maintenance  of course...they are really great for long term use (although they are not very efficient)...very pricey indeed, but apparently demand for them is increasing so maybe prices will get better soon....
