Have no problems with with killing thousands of soldiers and innocent civilians with unnecessary wars, but will vehemently protest something that actually helps people like Universal Healthcare, all in the name of "liberty" and "freedom?"

Can someone please explain this to me, I am having troubling understanding where they are coming from.

From a European standpoint most American politician sound like idiots. Not that ours are much better, but US politicians really sound like morons most of the times. Most of the things they say would be a sure way to ruin your career forever in most European countries.

they dont like healthcare reform cause it would make their buddies less rich and powerful. then they dont get a kickback.

i think its because they dont want to help anyone out. they view helping your neighbour with ANYTHING, and i do mean anything, as socialism. and socialisim is the new communism. they also love to make laws based upon a fairy tale, (namely the bible) and are some of the biggest hippocrites when it comes to sex. frankly, medicare is a government runned program and how many republicans would run agaisnt it or call it socialism? im guessing not too many will

I think the previous posts kind of sum it up! While the majority of politicians are scum, the GOP is particularly bad when i comes to doing what a government should do, which is provide for and protect its citizens. At least the Dems try to help out others while getting their kickbacks. I am always embarrassed by how bad the GOP in particular make us look to the rest of the world. Creationism? War? Pollution? They are just idiots and hypocrites.

We have (more than usual) idiots running Sweden at the moment too, though they'd be pretty left according to US standards. I don't get how working class people can vote for the conservatives.

Joining the military is voluntary, taxes to pay for healthcare are not voluntary.   You have to pay taxes to support the military for example, but that is supposed to be for protection.    Paying taxes for the healthcare of others is not exactly the same.   Health care is just as necessary to the people as a military if you look at it from a certain perspective.

That being said:  Jesus never charged someone money when he healed them.... What would Jesus do with the Healthcare crisis?    The Christian conservatives might want to look at how their own Savior handled caring for others.

Because some of them are thick enough to believe that tax cuts save them money. Misguided greed, really.
