Rust removal

I know a few of you guys tinker.  So has anyone ever used Evapo-Rust.  BTW I tried the acetone transmission mix it's great but it smells awful  :zombiefuck:

Looks interesting.

Used something from Eastwood before, turned the rust black, worked fairly well, but you had to clean it real good first.

Dad & I got ahold of Belzona once, painted his Ford truck bed with it, like a ceramic coating. Should have painted the whole truck with it, truck started rotting away with the exception of the bed, and he left it filled with snow in the winter and hauled everything in it.

My brother tried to get the spray on  bed liner people to spray his whole truck but they wouldn't do it :laugh:

Put a rusty pitted aze an old rust screw driver and a really rusty ball peen hammer in tonight

I have never used that one before, but I did use something that bound with the rust and turned it black, which worked pretty well on some outdoor furniture.

That turns the rust into a phosphate iI think this is supposed to leave it somewhat shiny

Grandpa Lit used to mix hydrochloric and phosphoric acid in a jar and then pouring it over the metal. It used to be pretty clean again.  :eyebrows:

Never bothered with before but this is the screw driver after before any wire wheel work it has a strange look to the metal.  Before it was very rusty. the aze and hammer are not done yet

Wonder if there are any problems with paint adhesion if you wanted to paint over this?

Can't find anything about painting afterwards.

Might have to try it and find out.  8)

Yes must try that.  it doesn't take the paint off but I don't know about painting it again
