That's what I should  be saying to myself right now, but I'm going to procrastinate instead!   :snowman:

Figure out a way to get these two overstimmed kids to leave their sick mommy alone and BE QUIET!!

I can smell smoke, I'm pretty sure that there's a fire somwhere, but this isn't our usual fire season.  :dunno:

Have you left anything burning unattended around the house?   :stoned:

I smelled smoke a few nights ago.  It awakened me from a sound sleep. I immediately bounded out of bed and checked the entire house. We were safe.

I went outside and noticed that the house across the way was burning again.  This had happened about three weeks ago and the fire department was there to get control of it. The house is vacant!!!

NOW, another attempt (I think by the owner)  to burn the house to the ground.

After this last fire, the house is a complete loss.

Even though there were six firetrucks there, I did not sleep any more that night.

I'm pretty sure his homeowner's insurance won't cover the house if it's unoccupied.  He might be in for a surprise.

What I will say to myself

Continue working on organizing the bathroom.  It's the smallest room.

Have you left anything burning unattended around the house?   :stoned:

Nah, as it turns out, it was someone down the street burning some of the chapparal bush that had grown into their yard.

That stuff has a distinct smell when it burns which Is why I thought there was some kind of wildfire.

I hope they have that fire under control so it doesn't endanger the neighborhood!  :police:

Oh, they weren't burning their backyard, they had pulled some of it out and were burning it in a fire pit.

Even here in the county (we live in an unicorporated area) you can't just set fire to your back 40.  ;)
