If I bought the wrong cough medicine. I feel worse!

 What kind of cough do you have (dry? phlegmy?) and what medicine did you buy? 

I bought a generic one treating coughs, colds and sore throats.
My throat is super sore and my nose does need blowing sometimes. The worst bit though is how it feels like someone has put a super tight corset on me and I can hardly breathe at times. It feel like my airway is restricted and I really need to cough but nothing comes up. Not yet anyway.

 I'm thinking you should call your doctor about this cough, you might need more than
 over-the-counter medicine, maybe antibiotics or a temporary inhaler. 

Having come extremely close to death 3 times due to recurring pneumonia as a child, and having had asthma until I was ten I think I agree.
Don't care if there isn't anything serious wrong, at least the medicine they give me should hopefully work so I don't have to keep coughing and irritate this sore throat.

Throat problems are the worst.

 I even had a gasping incident recently after burping up a little bit of stomach acid!
 My throat swelled so much that I couldn't breathe for a bit, and was pretty shaken up.

Firefox keep asking me to update to 8.0.1, which is probably a sensible thing to do, but.. then 'it' says that my AVG security software will not be compatible after the update.. I, now, don't know what to do.

Tending towards allowing the update to take place and look for AVG updates after that, but..

Yep, you're right about it being a plug-in. Done the update and all works fine (as far as I can tell).
