What do I need to get a properly working solar panel system (all of it/all parts) to make use of that type of 'free' energy in the future?

Oh, that's not a question someone has to answer (i-looking stuff up.. um, as we speak, so to say). That's just me pondering how to get less dependant on things I need and me wishing to cut down on the bills they come with.

A photovoltaic solar panel, or one that makes use of the greenhouse effect to heat something?

Hope investment costs will decrease a little though. Made some calculations yestereve.. and well, it's not really cheap.

True. A friend of mine and her husband had two choices with regards to the money they had saved. Either install an inground pool, or buy solar panels. They ended up choosing the solar panels but it gives one an idea as to the cost. I'd like to move out to the country and would use them for sure. Have thought about it on my current house but I don't know yet if I will stay here or move.
