i don't drink to a total stupor. at least i usually tend to stay within coherency.
i like a buzz and that's it. if i drink more then i fall asleep and wake up feeling like sandpaper. that's ok.
i am afraid to lose control the way i have in the past. i used to drink til i blacked out sometimes and the
worst thing about it is not remembering what you did but knowing it must have been something stupid.
you drink more sensibly as you get older. :P

it's just that i have to drink everything now instead of saving for later. that concept is alien to me. if it's there it must be consumed, whether it be alcohol drugs or food. though i do have a beer in the fridge cuz i felt so shitty after the 3rd.

Not here. I was pretty good, when
in college. Only started blacking out
around 25. Then I stopped being an
alchy, when I no longer had someone
to get smashed with. Became only a way
to handle social situations.

I don't drink too hard at home though.

lol i'm still 24 but i hope my black outs are strictly in the past. :laugh:

i never considered myself an alcy no matter how much i drank. it's weird. i guess i'm more of a substance abuser. i always have the picture of an alcoholic as someone who drinks from noon til night and always the same amount and never has periods where he doesn't drink and never is able to quit easily. that's the typical picture movies paint. plus they want to recover. which i rarely have done if truly ever. :P i just want better drugs.

it's sad you save them too much. your extreme isn't good either. we both should gravitate to the middle.

i'll do my best to stay alive. i just wish people understood my disorders so i wouldn't always have to struggle to survive the curveballs they threw at me unwittingly. a friend wants to visit in december and my OCD shit is so not good right now and it would mess things up, i might lose my only sanctuary which is my room. i try to keep it a safe place OCD-wise and can't have anyone else in my room but i dunno how to tell my best friend she can't visit or stay in my room. :(

AFAIK, the clinical definition of
alcoholism has more to do with
regularity, than anything else.

Though, in my bad period, we'd
wake up, stagger to the liquor store
(after finishing off the dregs of last night's
bottle) and start all over again.

Still, once my PE and I weren't living
together, I stopped most of my drinking,
and she went back to demerol.

i had phases where i drank everyday lots and lots but then would have periods of no drinking or little drinking... it was due to my extremism, once i start it's hard to stop, i kept thinking more equaled better. now i know better and buy less and i stopped drinking hard alcohol though i would gladly go back. i love cocktails.

I don't mix much. Well,
other than martinis, but
I put so little vermouth
in, and it's alcohol (sorta).

Even at the bar, they barely
put any cranberry in my vodka.
