Wired driving
« on: July 01, 2009, 02:28:37 PM »
I discovered that if I take enough stimulants I can overcome the calming effect of the Ritalin I take. I am going to try to make it to Orlando from Holyoke Mass in one day - rest room stops only. I am stopping in New York near Danbury to pick up an air conditioner. Then I am going to drive until I feel tired, then get stoked on caffeine, guarana and whatever else they put in those drinks.

With any luck I will post a couple of times from the road.

I am going different this time - 84 to 81 to 77 to 95 (i think). I am going to try to hit Washington in the wee hours or at least early in the morning. Then it's 95 straight through to Orlando.

I know I'm not the only one who drives like this.

Fess up.

Stephen King often mentions I-95 in his books. It's like E 4 or something, I believe.  :P

Back when I was using I drove from the SF Bay Area to Ogden Utah on a hefty dose of crank with hardly any stops.

I just drove from Pittsburgh to Minneapolis straight. Caffeine is your friend.

When I use caffeine then I have to make lots of toilet stops, but it keeps me awake.

I have driven straight through from Birmingham to San Antonio before, but it's not quite that far, I think.

Ended up being about a thousand miles. Summers are nice here.

Minneapolis is in Minnesota... no Mormons here.

Me too. I was stopping about every 1 1/2 to 2 hours to pee.

My mom made it from FL to MA in two days once, but it was because she couldn't afford more than one night in a motel.

I'm about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh, I don't know many people that go there by "choice". We just go there when we have to.

Have a safe journey neurowolf.  :coffee:

I live about 15 miles east of I-95 in St. Augustine FL right now.    We are on A1A, right across the street from the beach.
