Tires

Why is it that they stress so much about keeping them properly inflated yet put the proper PSI in the smallest almost unreadable writing on them.  My truck takes 80psi and the people at the tire place only filled them to 50 :-\

I have 4 eyes and without my glasses I can't read small shit. It's not like Readers Digest old people writing is needed on everything but computer serial numbers are pretty fucked to read as well. All that aside people working at a tire shop should know the proper pressure.

I go to the petrol station and inflate my car's tyres there myself.

80 psi! Really?

The inflation pressure written on the sidewall is usually the maximum inflation pressure, not the recommended pressure.

They are Load range E  tires I can put around 1900lbs in the bed. I had a heavy duty van with the same type tires they suck to fill unless you have a big compressor.  My mileage is bad enough so I like them full even if it rides rougher

I like the racket of filling tires with Nitrogen. I have my own custom mixture of 78.08% N2, 20.95% O2, and throw in a bunch of water vapor, Argon, CO2 etc just to mix it up a bit.

I don't really see any advantage in filling ordinary tires with nitrogen as opposed to your custom mixture.

Maybe it could be a slight advantage for race cars or something similar.

I could be just doing an  :asthing: , but isn't his custom mixture just common household air.

Plus I've heard it said that filling tires with pure Nitrogen stops them from leaking and going down over time. Sounds a lot like Monster Cables but for tires.
