But in doing so, you would give up your soul in order to be tortured in ways more horrifying than you can imagine forever, would you do it?

I wouldn't do it, and not because of the torture. I don't believe in heaven/perfection; it's stagnation. So I don't think doing it would be right.

If you righted everything that you perceived as wrong and corrupt in the world you would probably destabilize governments, social structures and economies that rely on such corruption and practices and inadvertently end up causing a fresh round of wars and factional infighting, ultimately racking up a higher scorecard than Joseph Stalin.

don't you people get it? if one of us is in pain, doesn't matter who, then there's still someone suffering, that's not fair. even you rage don't have the right to sacrifice that much, you're just naively thinking it'd work out somehow.

if you stick your hand in boiling water for an hour i'll give a homeless person some coins. to get you trying it out. :P it'll be worth it won't it? think of that dude getting a cuppa coffee because of you.

Sad but true. The world is so twisted that you cannot make all wrongs right with less than millions of dead, unless you believe in divine interference.

No, I wouldn't do it. But I would sacrifice my life for killing off some people who deserved it, if I knew I'd be dying of cancer or something soon anyway.

It's OK to die, if it goes quickly, but not torture. I have managed to stand a lot of pain, but most probably I wouldn't stay torture very long.

However, if you had the power to destroy every wrong in the world then you could also destroy the wrong being done to you ie. the torture  :zoinks:

I would like to say that I'd do that but I'm a chicken really and if I was being tortured I'd probably own up to every single unsolved crime ever done.

You're sounding rather John Donneish with that post SoVaNu, don't ask for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for Rage.  :zoinks: Anyway it's all academic, portions of the world can be made better from time to time but it will never be paradise.
