Had leftovers, but nothing so dreamy.

My daughter will not eat "biscuits, sausage gravy, fried potatoes with onions"  (a very basic, poor family meal, created in the distant past, because there was nothing else to eat - we eat this same style of meal sometimes,  morn or eve, just for the taste combination) when I make it, but she will gorge herself when it comes "out of the 'fridge in little containers," instead of fresh off the range.  It is sometimes difficult to feed picky eaters, but the microwave is like a god in some ways.

Often, I purposely create large amounts of leftovers.  It means less cooking and far more enjoyment. Additionally, it saves time.

I think some foods just taste better the next day, too. ;D

I would agree, as far as soups, stews, chili, beans and roasts are concerned.  Maybe a few more, but most cooked foods are more to my liking when fresh.

There is no way for me to understand why she prefers leftover gravy.

I'm the Queen of saving leftover gravy!

I love leftovers. Probably more than the meal itself, even though I like cooking. Leftovers suit me best during the week, so Sundays, I cook up something big so there's always a fallback at some point during the week.

The only thing I really prefer best fresh is Thai curry and stir fry's, because I like the crispness of the veges which you lose when reheated.

What are leftovers?  In my family a bag of cookies is a serving.  A roast is a meal.  A carton of ice cream is dessert.  A gallon of milk is well, you get the idea.  And No, I've tried dishing it up and putting the rest in the refrigerator.  They find it anyway.
