I used to love my grandmother's biscuits.  She spent a month trying to teach me how to bake biscuits like hers when I was a teenager, but I did not have the manual dexterity to do it like she did.  My biscuits were like hockey pucks compared to hers.

american people, explain two things to me.  what the fuck is "chicken fried steak"? - i.e. how on earth does one fry anything with chicken?  does it mean chicken fat?

the second is this biscuit thing - biscuits and gravy.  what are they, then, cos they're not custard creams,  obviously.

mind you, a nation of people who could dream up the travesty which is 'smores could come up with anything, i suppose.

I've never had chicken fried steak, but I think it's just steak fried like a chicken. As in, it's dipped in bread crumbs before it's cooked. It's a southern thing; I live in the north.
