We have one very nice mushroom in Sweden, the chanterelle. It's very nice fried with butter and white pepper.  8)

Yep. It's often called "the gold of the forest".  8)

Every spring my 'wild' bro-in-law brings us a huge bag of morels. (He's the outdorsman of the family - the only one of my wife's five brothers I can relate to. He's also a bow hunter)

He won't give up his secret mushroom gathering places, though.

Have you ever tasted a chanterelle? It tastes completely different from any other mushroom.

As far as I know, I've never tasted a Morel, but it probably tastes a bit like a Champignon.

I've only eaten farmed chanterelle mushrooms, but they are still wonderful!
