Yes those little things that are in the parking spaces you think are empty as you drive though the parking lot.  How safe can the possibly be at 1,609 lb I could stick one in the bed of my pick up and tow about 8 on a trailer and still meet the towing and weight capacity of my truck.  How safe can they be my truck weighs 7000lbs with full gas and my tools  I'd roll over it and the occupants let alone if I had my trailer in tow.  Thought?

They're very stout little cars.
However, the cabin is so solid, the impact forces are more likely to be transferred to the occupants

Till most cars are like that I'll stick with what I got.  Beside mines a work truck  and regularly carries more weight in it that that car weighs

Wouldn't matter if it was made of rubber and guaranteed to bounce on impact, gotta be able to haul stuff or I'm not interested.

Something like that is totally useless at a yard sale.

They're pretty common in Sweden. No wonder with the fuel costs here. But it's a shame to destroy a beautiful Mercedes in a  crash test with them.  :(

I saw that.  I think that a smart car crashing into a bigger car like a Mercedes is really bad for the occupants, too.  Size matters a lot.

Woofy drives a camry - his ex tried to talk him into a volvo but they have similar crash test ratings and the camry gets far better gas mileage.

I drive a Honda Odyssey minivan.

Here are some results for the Camry.  You're right, it's pretty good, too.
