Atlanta's not as hot as I thought it would be.

There were cops galore in MA, SC, and GA - none in PA and VA - but those were the overnight and cloudy parts of the trip. I averaged about 75 MPH except when I got to Altanta and ran into traffic.

Left the Danbury area around 9:20 pm and arrived Atlanta around 1pm. Not counting the 184 miles back and forth to Boston, the trip so far was about 1100 miles.

Next time I am going to leave earlier and maybe not nap.

I played one CD on the way down, found a favorite song and played it about 100 times. Fell into a trance of sorts and had a enlightenment experience. But I slept about 14 hours and now I feel better.

I'm glad that you slept for so long.

Bad things can happen when you are driving and too sleep-deprived.

Always strikes me as being a cop-heavy place, GA (not that I've been). Would love to visit Atalanta (the sister city) and Athens, I'm filled with envy. Great that you're having fun. Drive safe.

He says to tell you he's here.  ;D He got here at 11 last night.

Tell him we expect a full report later after he is well-rested.

Me, too, and I have been there many times.  I also have always thought that Atlanta had more than its share of crazy drivers, especially if it ever snows there.

still resting as there's no air conditioning and in the 90s (luckily dry).

i did most of the trip to atlanta in the dark and fighting with truckers up and down hills in PA. Virginia felt just as long a trip but it was foggy and cool and I saw hawks and geese (but not that many cops). I went about 80 mph the whole way except some parts of GA where everyone was doing 90 so I did 85 - 90.

Glazed over at my father's house for 2 days as he talked incessantly about his garden and his health food. a friend of his came over (all his friends are females with average or below average IQ) and she said hello to me and talked about her daughter and a trip they went on. when she left he complained about her not stopping talking - my mouth dropped open. i left as quickly as i could as he was using every opportunity to make fun of me to others. for example it started raining so i went inside. he told my mother that i had run inside when it started. it was a downpour and i went in when i got wet and realized the rain wouldn't stop. he made lunch for me before i left and managed to delay my leaving by two hours. i think he was thinking i wouldn't drive in rush hour. ordinarily i wouldn't but i wanted badly to get away from him - enough to suffer an hour of creeping traffic. nonetheless i made it from atlanta to orlando in 6.5 hours.

it got flatter and flatter as i drove and there were an outstanding number of billboards. lots of cops but everyone was doing at least 80 so i went ahead and did 85. left atlanta at 430 and got to orlando at 11pm.

collapsed when i got here. still recovering.
ask questions.
