ROAD TRIP!
« on: April 29, 2009, 01:28:58 PM »
My partner thinks I don't like to travel anymore - its more than fear, its unfamiliarity and financial insecurity.

but not for driving.
in the car i know what i am doing and where i am going (and never needed a GPS). i don't mind getting a little lost as long as I don't have to be anywhere.

the last road trip was to Lima, NY from the Springfield MA area and on the way we had a fight and went to Howe Caverns (still awesome after all these years)

Now I get to drive from Massachusetts to Florida. It will only take a day. I'm already excited. I've already decided that it will be OK to stop on the way for souvenirs - pictures and sketches. i can draw well enough to make bad sketches of things. i'm excited about that too. I'll be going through Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, North and South Carolina, and then Georgia. I intend to repeat the trip in July with stops to visit folks along the way. That'll be a real road trip

Not ready to travel the world, but nothing beats a good road trip.
Mark Twain: “Never argue with a [troll], onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.”

Crazy, I'm halfway to crazy
Suicide would waste me
Homicide would break me

Oh, is life as bad as dreams
I guess that's just the way it seems

I like road trips, too. Very relaxing. :)

When I got my license, in the spring of '89, I could drive for hours and hours just for the joy of it.  :hotrodder:

I drive to South Florida every once in a while.   I have put 40k miles on my 2007 Civic in less than 2 years.   I-95 passes through Jacksonville, so I see plenty of travelers going through the city on their way to other parts of Florida.
:P   Internets are super serious.

My Volvo 142 from 1973 looked exactly like this, except for the wipers on the front lights:

My first car was a Volvo 142, but older than that.
