A bunch of my friends when I was a kid were Pakistani. I remember being thirteen and one of them telling me secretly and proudly that she just passed her Canadian citizenship test. They were some of the few kids in the class who still admired academic achievement. It's baffling to see the whole place get villified. They're just people.
