Peanut butter
« on: March 15, 2009, 08:19:20 PM »
My wife was watching the food network today when I heard them say peanut butter was mainly a North American thing.  So I ask people from other parts of the world is this true or not?

It's popular in Australia as well. There's a peanut-growing region in the state of Queensland.

Very popular here too. (The Netherlands)

More than a jar per week usage in this household. Often two.
What hardly anyone eats here are peanutbutter jelly sandwiches though. I heard that that was a typical north american thing. Now I'm wondering if that's true.

When you look at breadtopings that don't need a fridge in a supermarket, most space will be for jams. Chocolate topings and peanutbutters come second. Defenitely popular here.

Smallest space is for marmite.

Yeah they are hard to get here (Australia). Usually speciality confectionery import stores have them.
