Have you been doing new beadwork lately? Do you sell them or give them to people? I make Japanese braids but I haven't posted a picture yet, GA keeps taking the photos off the camera...
I'll be fascinated to see your Japanese braids when you get a chance to post some pics.
I put any new claying projects on hold during the Christmas and school-holiday period. Too many other distractions to concentrate on it fully. Also, when the door fell off my oven, I got one of those toaster-ovens so I could still bake beads, but it's fiddly to use. I
did do a bit of necklace-stringing, with a view to hosting one of those home parties so friends and neighbours could look and buy. That didn't come off, which was too bad in one way (I've got a buttload of finished pieces which I can't possibly wear all of, myself
) and a big relief in another way (aspie that I am, opening up myself and my work to close scrutiny is a less-than-delightful prospect).
I'm about to get stuck into the claying again, though. It's a fantastic hobby; the possibilities of what you can do with it are limited only by imagination. The clayers' forum I go on has a little contest every month to get everybody's creative juices flowing. To start off the year, our theme is hearts: We can come up with beads or a pendant or a wall hanging or anything, using any materials and techniques we want, just as long as it ties in with the hearts theme. I've been staying up till all hours browsing online, looking at what other artists have done. There are at least three things I'd like to try. I can't wait to get my hands on it! Once my boys go back to school, it'll be a lot easier.
Here's a link to my Photobucket album of claying and beadwork pics, for anyone who wants to have a look.
